Alpha Lavinia Floyd, 91, of Kaufman, TX went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2015. She was born to Jessie Carlton and Elsie (Jordan) Kyser on July 27, 1923 in Cedarvale, TX. Alpha married the love of her life, Jim Roland Floyd, and they were married 45 years before he passed away. Alpha, known as “Momma” loved to cook and sew. She was a life long member of Ola Church of Christ where she spent many days sewing with the Sewing Circle group. Her dedication to helping others and putting them first is an inspiration to her family and everyone who knew her. Momma loved all her kids and grandkids, who called her “Me-maw”. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma who always has, and always will, watch over her family. Preceding her in death are her husband Jim, parents Jessie and Elsie, son, Randy Floyd, grandson Jimmy Floyd, brother Shaw Kyser and his wife Sue. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: James Floyd, Bobby Floyd and wife Sandy, Tommy Floyd and wife Teressa and Kelly Floyd and wife Myrna; Brother T.M. Kyser and wife Martha; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. A celebration of Alpha’s life will be held at the Ola Church of Christ on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 2:00pm and she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the Morrow Chapel Cemetery.
