Mrs. Laura Shales Dies
Mrs. Laura Shales, a resident of Sumner for the past few years, died last Wednesday, January 21 after a lingering illness. She was born 78 years ago at Sidney, Ohio. Her husband preceded her in death two years ago when the couple was spending the year in California. Besides Henry and Sam Shales of this place, she is also survived another son, John of Randalia. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. Paul Pease officiating and at the Methodist church in Hawkeye. Interment was in Hawkeye cemetery.
