Frank J. Tierney, age 103, of Cobden, Illinois and formerly from Rome City, Indiana, passed away December 12, 2014, in Avilla, IN.

He was the owner of The Cove Tavern in Rome City, IN., for many years. He was also a construction Foreman when the Indiana Toll Road was being built. Frank was a Lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #1194 in Kendallville.

He was born in November 24, 1911, in Youngstown, OH. to Frank and Adelaide (Fanz) Tierney.

On November 24, 1943, in Valparaiso, IN. he was married to Vera Potee. She preceded him in death on July 3, 1987.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Beverly Potee of Florida, and Abby Potee of Constantine, MI. seven nieces, Linda Hatfield of Middlebury, IN., Myrna Arnold of Brimfield, IN. Patty Stricklan, of Delaware, Debbie Kaufman of Florida, Bonnie Albert of Valparaiso, Adelee Reid of Idaho,; and Lynne Powell of Idaho; five nephews, Bruce Potee of Florida; Bill Tierney; James Milliken; Dino Potee, and Jim Potee, and special friends, Tom And Darbi Rash of Buffalo, N. Y.

Burial took place in Orang Cemetery near Rome City, IN.
