Donald Keith Coltrane, son of Leaman Chester and Chrissie Blanch Young Coltrane, was born May 28, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, February 5, 2015 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, eight months, and eight days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Rory Adamson.

Donnie is survived by his children, Brandon Acton and wife Shelly, of Hillsboro, Kansas, Chad Acton and wife Jennifer, of Battlefield, Missouri, Shaun Coltrane and wife Jackie, of Marshfield, Missouri, Dustin Coltrane and wife Mistie, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Emma Collings, of Republic, Missouri; grandchildren, Sydney Acton, Tyler Acton, Brandon Pogue, Brett Jackson, Harper Coltrane, Maddie Coltrane, Emily MacMillan, Delaney Acton, and Charlee Coltrane; a sister, Maxine Adamson, of Willow Springs, Missouri; a brother, Randy Coltrane and wife Janice, of Grovespring, Missouri; the mother of his children, Sue Brown and husband Clark, of Hartville, Missouri; a niece, Ally Coltrane; nephews, Faron Adamson, Jacob Coltrane, and Zachary Coltrane; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Donnie spent most of his life living in the Hartville area. He was a graduate of Hartville High School in the Class of 1962. He worked for Kraft for sixteen years before going to work as an over-the-road truck driver for Jones Trucking. He later drove for Roadway Express and retired from the Teamsters Union after thirty years of service.

Donnie had accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Little Creek Baptist Church. He was attending Souls Harbor Church in Lebanon at the time of his passing.

He was an avid bowler and enjoyed attending the Starvey Creek Bluegrass Festival. You could find him on Saturday evenings at I-44 Speedway and on Sunday afternoons watching NASCAR. He loved watching old westerns on TV and rarely missed his niece Ally’s basketball games.
