Julia McConnell "Ti" Allen, 94 of 500 Woodland Dr., Florence, SC widow of Rupert Allen went to see her heavenly Father August 1, 2012.
Julia was born in Georgetown, SC on April 18, 1918 the daughter of the late Louis James and Kathryn Dickert McConnell. She was a graduate of Winyah High School and received her Teacher's Degree at Winthrop College. She taught school for 32 years at Winyah Academy for first graders. Mrs. Allen moved to Florence and was a charter member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church and was an active member of the Women's Bible Class.
Surviving are nieces - Kathryn Lee Bourne of Donalds and Dr. Julie Lee Allen and husband Todd of Batesville, AR; nephew - Stephen Alison Lee and wife Mary Lee of Greenwood; cousins - Jean Ripard and husband Joe of Georgetown and May May Shealy of Jacksonville, FL; grandnieces and nephews – Ashley Nunn, Katie Allen, Lindsey Lee, Jack Allen and Maddox Lee; Great-grandnieces and nephews, Carson Daniel, Landon Nunn and Olivia Bourne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathryn McConnell "Kat" Lee of Greenwood.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church 1021 S. Ebenezer Rd, Florence, SC 29501. Officating the celebration of life will be Matt Walton and Perry Mobley. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
Mrs. Allen was donated to Research at the Medical University of South Carolina by her wishes.
The family would like to thank the many friends and caretakers who have cared for her, for their love and compassion to Julia during her illness.
