Lowell L. Holsinger, 69, of Urbana, formerly of Eldorado, died Saturday, March 1, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dayton, after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 24, 1928, in Eldorado, he was the son of Frank and Hazel (Petry) Holsinger. He was a life member of the VFW. Am Vets, American Legion and DAV, all in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie M. (Kitchen) Holsinger, who he married March 26, 1952; a son, Richard L. Holsinger, of Greenville, Texas; a grandson, Martin Holsinger; a granddaughter, Margaret Holsinger; two sisters, Donna Knose and June Shipley, both of Eaton; a brother, Harold Holsinger of Urbana; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Michael Chapel, West Manchester, with the Rev. Raymond E. Rothwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 5. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Eldorado, where military graveside services will be conducted.
