Obituary.

Samuel Fay Elledge

Samuel Fay Elledge son of Mr. and Mrs. William Elledge was born 3 1/2 miles southeast of Severy, on April24, 1891, on the Elledge farm. He closed his early life in Wichita, Kansas, August 3rd, 1916.

His childhood days were spent on the farm and attending school at Pleasant Plain District.

He graduated from the Fredonia Business College in November 1909, later forming a partnership with his brother Ray in the garage business at Severy. As a business man his judgement was broad and far reaching.

He professed faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior several years ago and was a member of the Epworth League.

He was married to Miss Helen Bradbury of Severy, Kansas, on October 1st, 1912, by O.L. Weir, pastor of the First Baptist church of Howard, Kansas.

He took a claim near Arlington, Colo., November 1915, to which place he moved with his wife in May of this year, where he resided at the time of his illness.

Joy to him was a natural gift of his life, and his natural good cheer made him the central figure of the family. Home and mother were sacred words to Sam's heart and all through his life thoughtful consideration and love for his mother was tender and gentle. To the one who gave her all to his keeping, he was devoted and true.

Catching a gleam of the star that stood above the lonely Manger in the holy hour of his life was lived beneath the shadow of his wing in that sweet secret of the Narrow Way. Change may part us yet the blue-eyed, rosy cheeked, fair haired boy, the kind thoughtful youth, the princely man is with us still.

In his death he leaves to mourn for him a father and mother, a young and loving wife, one brother, Ray Elledge of Meade, Kansas and four sisters, Lulu and Minta Elledge of Severy, Kansas, Mrs. Clyda Brown of Wichita, Kansas, and his twin sister, Mrs. Sallie Smith of Burley, Idaho, with a host of friends.

The funeral was conducted by O.L. Weir pastor First Baptist church, of Howard, Kansas, on Saturday, August 5th, at 2 p.m., in the Methodist church of Severy and his body was laid to rest in the Twin Groves cemetery.

May the Lord comfort the bereaved.
