A resident of Kentwood, died at 6:50 AM on Monday, February 9, 2015 at her home. She was born January 21, 1937 in Pelahatchie, MS and was 78 years of age. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. After retiring, she enjoyed quilting and doing jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Eric E. "Bull" Strickland of Kentwood; her two daughters, Karen Strickland McLaughlin and husband, Marvin of Kentwood and Kelly Strickland Bennett and husband, Tony of Kentwood; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Bennett and wife, Angel of Holiday, FL, Jennifer Decota of Roseland, Charlee McLaughlin Brown and husband, Adam of Kentwood, Trevor McLaughlin of Kentwood and Kirby Bennett of Fort Worth, TX; ten great grandchildren, Taylor Toney and husband, Brenden, Hannah Bennett, Emma Fulkerson, Sebastian McLaughlin, Abigail Ebers, Emily Decota, Kyla McLaughlin, Lillian McLaughlin, Austin Bennett and Trent Decota; one brother, Roland Walker and wife, Jennie of Star, MS; one sister in law, Francis Strickland of Hammond and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Doris King Walker and one brother, Asberry Walker.
Visitation at Spring Creek Baptist Church, New Building, Kentwood, on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 9 AM until Religious Service at 12 Noon. Services conducted by Dr. Danny R. Smith. Interment Spring Creek Cemetery, Kentwood.
