OBITUARY :
MRS. KAREN S. BAUMGARDNER, 58, of Bayer Drive, Waynesboro, died Tuesday morning, February 10, 2015, in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born May 2, 1956 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Robert R. Kint of Waynesboro and the late Patricia W. (Wolfe) Kint. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.

Karen graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1974, where she participated in district band, including playing a solo. In 1976, she received her Associates Degree in Business from Hagerstown Junior College.

She and her husband of over 34 years, Bob L. Baumgardner, were married on June 10, 1980 in Waynesboro.

Karen held various positions in civil service in her early life. Prior to retiring on disability in 2005, she worked for many years at First Data, Hagerstown.

She was a member of the Wayne Band, Waynesboro, for 14 years and was a Girl Scout leader for many years.

Karen enjoyed dealing antiques, attending flea markets, dog grooming, playing volleyball, bowling, and her pets including her black lab, Jake. She also enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and sisters.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by two children, Jessica L. Baumgardner and Cory R. Baumgardner, both of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Ashton Farley, Makenzie Farley, Eli Farley, Kean Baumgardner, and Natalia Baumgardner; three sisters, Margie Short of Waynesboro, Angela Helfrick-Eslick of Waynesboro, and Bobbie McIntyre of Greencastle; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2015 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Bill Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Antietam Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday afternoon, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
