Marvin Jameson, 86 of Rio, died March 22, 2017 a month after sustaining a head injury from a fall.

The oldest son of Julius and Gladys Jameson, Marvin was born in Lodi and rode his bicycle to Rio at age 14 to live with his aunts Lillian and Vicky Jameson to attend school. Except for brief stints in Portage and Brooklyn, he lived in Rio the rest of his life.

Marvin's careers with the Rio Farmer's Union Cooperative, Roberts, Jameson, Hill Insurance Agency, and Arlington Mutual Insurance and his involvement with the ministries of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 60 years made him well known and highly regarded in four counties.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years Margaret, his children Linda, Norman (Sue Ellen), Denise (Rick) Cada, James, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and his sister Gloria (Lang), many beloved nieces and nephews and five stepchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, the mother of his children, their infant son Brian, grandson Dustin, and Marvin's brothers Julius Jr. and Donald, and sister Shirley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25 at 11 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rio. Interment will follow at Dekorra Lutheran Cemetery, Lake Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Friday, March 24 from 4 to 8 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Rio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends to consider a memorial gift to the ministries of Rio Redeemer Lutheran Church.
