Catherine “Kay” Anderson, age 88, formerly of Ohio, Illinois died Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Colonial Hall Care Center in Princeton, Illinois.
Kay was born June 1, 1926 in Atkinson, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Maude (Booth) Clark. She was united in marriage to William L. Anderson July 2, 1944 in Ohio, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2013. She worked at the Ohio Grain Company for more than 30 years. Kay was a lifelong member of the Ohio United Methodist Church where she was very active in the UMW. Recently she was a member of the Red Oak United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Blue and White Pottery Club and the Sleepy Eye Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen(Dave) Kuebel of Ohio, Illinois; one son, William J. Anderson of Naperville, Illinois; one grandson, Lance (Kerry) Harris of Arlington Heights, Illinois; one granddaughter, Jody (Eric) Cooper of Lincoln, Illinois; 5 great- grandchildren; Morgan, Brett and Tyler Harris, Makenzie and Jacey Cooper ; one sister, Helen Clark of Sublette, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Janet Joy and one brother Robert Clark.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home with the Rev. Judy Giese, pastor of the Red Oak United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Ohio. A memorial has been established to the Ohio Fire Department, the Red Oak United Methodist Church and Union Cemetery.
