Miss Julia Louise Abbott married. Cards reading as follows were received here
yesterday: "Mr. William B. Abbott announces the marriage of his daughter, Julia
Louise, to Mr. Daniel Floyd Culler, on Wednesday, August twentieth, Nineteen
Hundred and two, Strasburg, Virginia." The bride is well known in Charlotte and
was, until last June, the lady principal of Elizabeth College, in this city.

Strasburg, Virginia, October 31,--A telegram has been received here announcing
the death of Prof. D. F. Culler, of St. Louis, Missouri. Professor Culler
married Miss Julia Louise Abbott, daughter of William Abbott, of this place, in
August, 1902. He was about 32 years old. Professor Culler was assistant
superintendent of the city schools of St. Louis and professor of modern
languages and literature. Professor and Mrs. Culler spent part of their
vacation with relatives here last summer. The body will be brought here for
burial.
