AMORY – Iva Nell Lovvorn, 82, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory after a short illness. She was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Monroe County to Arch D. and Bertha Cain Ausbon. She grew up in the Parham community and lived in Amory for many years. She married Robert Price Lovvorn in 1946; he died in 1987. She was a graduate of Smithville Schools. She was employed by NBC Bank and by Amory Garment Co. She was a member of the Amory Church of Christ, the Amory Garden Club and the Monroe County Homemakers Club. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, sewing and painting.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Philip Hathcock and Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Amory.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Nell Sanders (Eddie) of Amory; two grandchildren, Scott Sanders (Pam) and Jennifer Sanders Bakker (Jeff); four great-grandchildren, Brycen, Blaine, Kaitlyn and Alex; and a niece, Carolyn Kirkpatrick of Becker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and six brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Clements, Dick Sanderson, Robert Tate, Danny Sanders, Freddy Gilmore, Johnny Frank Turman and Jimmy Vaughan.
Visitation will continue until service time today at the funeral home.
