Cosmo Edward Peccia II

Cosmo Edward Peccia II, age 82, passed away at home with his beloved wife Ruth and family members by his side. Born in Ft. Benning, Georgia, he was preceded in death by his parents, Cosmo E. Peccia, Tech Sgt. U.S. Army and mother Martha Tschiggfrey, his sister Josephine D. D'Lerma, and his first son Cosmo Edward Peccia III.
Cos was a U.S. Marine veteran and served in World War II (1944-1946) in Okinawa, Japan. He met the love of his life Ruth Reynolds in Wallace, Idaho, in July of '46 and they married three months later in October. Their marriage was blessed at St. Gertrude's Church and lasted 62 years.
Cosmo was a Stockton resident for 58 years. Golf was his "game." He was an Atlanta Braves fan, and he coached and umpired for the National Little League in Stockton.
Cosmo was successful in the Trucking business, starting on the docks and driving, and soon became terminal manager for C.M.E., ETMF, and ABF. In his retired years, he worked at Eddie's Liquors. He was a member of the Stockton Marine Corps Club, Ed Stewart Post #803, and the Mustang Club in the '60's.
Cos was the beloved "Daddy" to Cathy Thomsen (Frank); Mike Peccia (Ann); Anthony Peccia; and Martha Whitton (Mike); dear Grandfather to Gabriel, Joshua, Brian, Ross, Sara, Jenny, and Maria. He leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and his little dog "Biff."
Friends and family were invited to attend services on Tuesday, July 28, at Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Rd., Manteca. This was followed by a "Celebration of Life" at Ed Stewart Post #803 on West Lane, Stockton. In lieu of flowers, please contribute donations to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204 or to the Parkinson's Institute, 1170 Morse Ave. Sunnyvale, CA 94089.
