Cpl. Demarkus Brown of Martinsville, VA, was a 2000 graduate of Laurel Park High School and enlisted in the Marines in July 2003. He was enthusiastic about his chosen profession. The television documentary, titled "The Anvil of God," is about Brown's unit which aired on Anderson Cooper's 360 August 3rd 2007. His medals included the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He died as the result of enemy action in Iraq's Anbar province at age 22.
