Lucille L. Hinman Samson passed on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, 12 days after the passing of her husband, Bill.
She was born on July 17, 1931, to Edna (McCreanor) Hinman and Dewey Morgan Hinman. She and sister, Suzanne, descended from grandparents William and Margaret McCreanor who homesteaded in York.
She graduated from Helena High School in 1949, attended Montana State University and returned to Helena to marry her high school sweetheart, Bill Samson. They welcomed three children. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in August.
She participated in Bible study and church choir at Sunrise Presbyterian Church in Great Falls. She was active in the Great Falls Ad Club, was secretary for the CM Russell Art Auction and a Campfire Girl leader. She and Bill were instrumental in creating Camp Tawagenao on Salmon Lake for Campfire Girls to enjoy for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Samson, and sister Suzanne Bateman.
She is survived three children, eight grandchildren, as well as four great-grandsons, and a first great-granddaughter due in April.
