ELIZABETH M. BINNS
Elizabeth Binns passed away Monday, July 25, at the home of her brother, H. C. Binns, 902 Coolbaugh Street, with whom she had made her home the past year. Death was due to heart trouble, resulting from complications. She had been failing in health for nearly 3 years but bore her illness with great patience and fortitude. The funeral was held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. The services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Clevenger, pastor of the Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. William B. Thompson, pastor of the M. E. Church . Mrs. I. O. Gibson and Mrs. Horace Beardsley sang several selections. The pall bearers were Thos. Weldman, Wm. Cozad, Wilbur Cozad, John Danielson, W. W. Montgomery, and J. E. Elwood. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery
Deceased was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, March 29, 1830. In 1855 she came with her parents to Iowa, stopping at Fairfield. In the spring of 1856, her parents settled on a farm on the line of Page and Montgomery Counties, where they lived for 8 years, when they moved to a farm south of Red Oak, which has been her home for 35 years, the parents passing away on this homestead.
The past 11 years, with her brothers, and sister, Miss Binns had made her home in this city.
She is survived by 2 brother and 2 sister; H. C. and Robert Binns and Mrs. Willian Stafford and Miss Mary L. Binns. Miss Binns united with the Baptist Church in early life and has been faithful in her Master's work. She was one of the charter members of the Baptist Church in this city and was the last charter member to pass to her reward.
