Miriam Martha "Meno" Meiners Bankemper was the only child of Herman George Meiners and Martha F. Blum Meiners, born on November 26, 1927 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. She got her nickname of Meno because her first cousin Mary Donnelly Minges could not pronounce Miriam. After her mother's death and father's remarriage, she had three stepsisters. Her stepmother was Louise Elizabeth "Lou" Ziegler Schuler Meiners. Miriam married Donald J. Bankemper, and they became the parents of Paul Bankemper, Stef Bankemper (a Catholic priest), Mark Bankemper, Martha Bankemper Wolking, Patrick Bankemper, and Michael R. Bankemper. Miriam passed away at age 78 on November 5, 2006 in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky and is buried next to her husband at Saint Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas, Campbell County.
