Sherril Elizabeth Peterson, 55, of Manton, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital of natural causes.

Born to Clair and Consuelo Channel, she returned to Tehama County in 1990 from San Mateo County.

She was married to Jon Peterson in 1980. They moved to Manton in 1990, where she cultivated hundreds of apple trees, a large garden and two pond turtles. She worked as a school bus driver for the Tehama County Department of Education. Sherril also worked part time at The Red Bluff Daily News.

Survivors include husband, Jon; son, Lowell of Manton; daughter Shelene of Belmont; brother Steven Channel of Yuba City; sisters, Suzanne McIntire of Sacramento and Sally Miskella of Chico; mother, Consuelo Russell; and father, Clair and stepmother, Betty Channel of Red Bluff.

Services were held at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers with Paster Mike Stiener officiating. Graveside service followed at Manton Cemetery.
