Jeffrey L. Amos, 50, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Jeff was a loving son, husband, father and brother. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He worked at Work Force Investment Board, formerly known as the Private Industry Council, for 26 years as the policy and planning director. He was well known with the employment training committees throughout the state of Indiana. Jeff was a former member of the Tell City Jaycees, East Side Civitan and Downtown Civitan Clubs. He was a 1974 graduate of Tell City High School and received his degree in business marketing, with a minor in criminology, from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind., in 1978. He was an avid hydroplane and auto racing fan, and a loyal fan of the Indianapolis 500.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 26 years, Julie (Ford) Amos; a daughter, Brittney Amos; and a son, Shaun Amos, all of Evansville; his mother, Gertrude Amos of Tell City, Ind.; a sister, Peggy Huff and her husband, Don of Ferdinand, Ind.; a brother, Mike Amos and his wife, Ronnie of Roswell, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Brandon C. Amos, in 1997; and his father, Alfred L. Amos, in 2003.

Services 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., and continued at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Road, with Father Bernard Etienne officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, with a 7 p.m. memorial service at the funeral home.
