Hubert Barrett Hilton

H. Barrett Hilton (Barre), son of Kathleen and Hubert Bedford Hilton, passed on to heaven Jan. 5, 2015. He lived an exceptionally full life, and stayed active in the community his entire 73 years of life. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth P. Hilton, of 47 years. He was the eldest of five children, Kay Carol (Kakie), Lolli Hilton, Brian Hilton and Kevin Hilton.

He was a 55-year Elk’s Club member. He retired from Mare Island after 38 years of service. He was a member of Sons in Retirement and treasurer for Girl Scouts of America.

In addition to spending time with his nieces and nephews playing cards and keeping the magic of Christmas and the holidays alive, Uncle “Chip” or Uncle “Hilarious” loved camping and fishing. He enjoyed all forms of exercise with a motor, attended car shows, and relished a good gin martini.
