Elizabeth Ann Arburthnot, the wife of James Kyle, was born in Ireland in 1801 and came with him and the six children to Canada. She died September 16, 1868 at age 67. She was first buried in a small plot in the front corner of their farm, beside the remains of her daughter, Esther, and her son-in-law, Archibald Smirle. After the Presbyterian church was erected in 1870, all of the bodies were transferred to the adjacent new cemetery.
