Rebecca was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Hobson) Wiles; married in 1852 at Gilford, Missouri, to William Ellis Gentry; son of Allen and Sarah (Sally) (Brittain) Gentry, born July 24, 1829, died October 30, 1861 in Nodaway Co., Missouri (Union Soldier). In the spring of 1862 Rebecca moved to Mills County, Iowa, where she lived 4 years. On July 3, 1866, she married Mattes Akeson. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Cass County Nebraska where they homesteaded a farm located between Manley and Weeping Water.
