Mr. Chermak was born Oct. 18, 1899, at Manitowoc, son of the late Anton and Emma Krainik Chermak. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from the old southside high school. He married Mabel J. Peterson Sept. 6, 1930, at Waukegan, Ill. The couple resided in Manitowoc where Mr. Chermak was co-owner of the A.J. Chermak Meat Market. Mr. Chermak was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a former council member, a member of United Commercial Travelers, life member of Masonic Lodge No. 65 F and AM, a member of Manitowoc Chapter No. 16 and Manitowoc Council No. 18. He was a life member and past worthy patron of Order of Eastern Star No. 196, past commander of Manitowoc Knight Templars No. 45, member of Manitowoc Elks No. 687, former member of Manitowoc Harbor Commission and a member of Cedar Lake Improvement Association.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law (private); two daughters and a son-in-law, (private); two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles L. Chermak, and Anton and Agnes Chermak, Manitowoc; and seven grandchildren, (private). A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday and at the church from noon until the time of services. Masonic memorial services will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Last memorials may be made to the church building fund.

Funeral services for Mr. Harry J. Chermak, 80, of 1124 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, who died Tuesday evening at Memorial Hospital, were held this Friday afternoon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, with burial in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. A sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Chermak, wife of the former Alvin Chermak was nadvertently omitted.
