Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hall, of Melvin, are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary and Mrs. Hall's 72nd birthday, October 19. The family will hold open house for them from 2 to 5 in their home.

Mrs. Hall was Lenora Stokan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stokan, of Maple Valley Township. Mr. Hall was born August 15, 1879 in Morpeth, Canada, and came to Michigan at the age of eight with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hall.

They were married in the home of Mrs. Hall's parents on October 16, 1902, with Rev. L. G. McAndrews, of the Melvin Methodist Church, performing the ceremony. Miss Linda Hall and Herb Stokan were the attendants, and Mrs. Matilda Shell Embury, aunt of Mrs. Hall, played the wedding march.

Mr. and Mrs. Hall farmed in Maple Valley and Speaker Townships for 33 years but have lived in Melvin for the past 17 years.

Mr. Hall has two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Beemer, of Brown City, and Mrs. Linda Thompson, of Port Huron. Mrs. Hall has one brother, Herbert Stokan, Brown City.
They have four children: Glenn Hall and Beulah Campbell, Port Huron; Roy Hall, Brown City, and Cora Bowen, Melvin. One daughter, Beatrice, died at the age of six. They have 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
