Born on December 31, 1906 in Chicago, Illinois, Jerome (Jaroslav) Kubat was the son of Joseph Kubat and Mary Cermak Kubat. He worked as a house painter with his father before his marriage to Alice Doering on November 2, 1927. They had one daughter. From his obituary: Kubat: Jerome A. Kubat, devoted husband of Alice (nee Doering), beloved father of LaVergne (Raymond Sr.) Nedbal, grandfather of Raymond Jr. Katherine, Cynthia, and Kenneth Nedbal, brother of Marie Kiehl, Rose Wunderlich, and Frank. Funeral Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at Becvar Funeral Directors, 5218 S. Kedzie. Interment Concordia. PR 6-3809.
