A funeral for Roy Franklin Bevels, 80, retired farmer of the Bevels Chapel community, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bevel's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Easterwood and Rev. Sharp officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home of Fayetteville in charge. Mr. Bevels died at the Huntsville Hospital Saturday morning after a long illness. He was a native of Lincoln County, Tennessee, the son of the late Elisha and Elizabeth Holt Bevels. He was a member of the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mina Bevels; a daughter, Mrs. Alton Brooks of Hazel Green; a son, Parvin Bevels of Madison County; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Stewart of Lincoln County, and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Clyde Slayton, J. B. Slayton, Carlton Moore, Albert Posey, Teoma York and A. D. Brady.
