1915--1997
Albert L. Barth, 82, of 136 W. Second St., died at 2:12 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Eureka Hospital, Eureka.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Winterrrowd-Hagi Funeral Home. The Rev. Judith J. Ziemann will officiate.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Walter Barton, Max Barton, Carl "Bud" Barton, Gary Barton, and Tony Brunner. A flag folding ceremony will be conducted by Streator Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1492.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born Jan. 21, 1915, in Streator, he was the son of Carl R. and Lena (Berger) Barth. He married Vivian Barton in June 1946. She died Mar. 6, 1987.
He is survived by a son ...Barth, of Congerville, a step-daughter, Marilyn DeYoung of Sun City, Ariz.; a step-son, Ralph Sked of Streator; and six step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-grandson.
He retired from the La Salle County Highway Department.
A WWII veteran, he served in the United States Army.
He was a former member of Streator VFW Post #1492 and the Streator Eagles Club.
Memorials may be directed to the Streator Canteen Memorial Fund.
