PAINESVILLE — Alexandra M. Kosenko, age 73, of Painesville, died late Monday evening, Feb. 16, 2015, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 6, 1942, in Russia, the daughter of Peter and Maria Kosenko. She was a resident of the Jefferson area much of her life before moving to Painesville in 1985.


Ms. Kosenko retired from the General Electric Willoughby Course Plant after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Mentor. Alexandra enjoyed doing floral arrangements and gardening.

She is survived by two children, Lori A. (Joe) Dennis of Jefferson and Paul J. Skvarek Jr. of Lenox Township; six grandchildren, Joey and Heather Dennis, Brandon and Laura May and Jesse and Erika Skvarek; six great-grandchildren, Gavin, Joshua, Bentley, Baileigh, Brantley and Jesse; a brother, Walter (Jackie) Kosenko of Austinburg Township; a sister, Kathryn M. (Jeffery) Drake of Akron; and two nieces, Cindy Marinkov of Parma and Natalie Peck of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter in 1992 and Maria in 2008; and two sisters, Alexandra in infancy and Lydia Kosenko.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 20th, at the Geneva Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, with Fr. Andrew Clements, of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lenox Center Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Today, Feb. 19th, and from 10 a.m. until the time of Service, Friday, at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor, Ohio 44060, envelopes will be at the funeral home.
