She was born Aug. 28, 1921, at Leevale, a daughter of the late Jesse J. Raynes, Ethel Raynes and Annie Pettry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Morris, a daughter, Margie Susie Webb; two brothers, Lando and William Raynes; and three sisters, Irene Webb, Bertie Brown and Mary Sothern.
She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Clara Canterbury and Linda and Butch Cottrell, all of Naoma, and Patsy and Raymond Gwinn of Beckley; sons and their wives, Donnie Morris of Akron, Ohio, James and Sue Morris and Robert and Millie Morris, all of Hickory, N.C., Vernon Morris and Richard and Mary Morris, all of Naoma; a sister, Brenda Raynes of Virginia; brothers and their wives, Walter and Betty Raynes of Ameagle, Willie Raynes of Bluefield, James Raynes of Cunard, Eugene and Brenda Raynes of Fairdale and Jesse Lee and Callie Raynes of Bedford, Pa.; 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 30, at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with Pastor Harry Riddle officiating. Interment will follow in the Raynes family cemetery, Ameagle. Singers will be present.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
