A Methodist minister who served as the Presiding Elder of the Vermont and Rhode Island districts, he was the son of Nehemiah and Mary Sabin. His father died served under George Washington at the Battle of Trenton. Lorenzo Sabine (1803-1877), his son, (note the difference in spelling--it is correct) published a biographical sketch of him on pages 306 to 313 of Annals of the American Pulpit, vol. 7 (1857).

He married on April 18, 1802 to Hannah Clark, the sixteen year old daughter of John Clark of Landaff, NH. They had two or more children. After his death, she remarried. She died on Feb. 28, 1825 at Hampden. This was the twenty-second birthday of her eldest son.

I would welcome any information as to his burial place. JRG
