DAVE TAYLOR MONCKTON
Services for Dave Taylor Monckton, who passed away in Oregon City Sunday, Jan.3, following a major operation, were held at the Peake Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 2 pm. Mr Harry Thompson officiated. Wm. Elliott, accompanied by Pauline Wahlstrom, rendered two selections.
Mr. Monckton was born at Wilmington, Delaware, July 5, 1880. When eight years of age he moved with his parents to Chinook, Montana, where he lived until nineteen years of age and then spent about four years in Australia. He later came to Portland where he was married in 1904 and came to this city in 1918 where he has since continuously resided. He was an employee of the Hawley Paper Mills for thirteen years.
He is survived by seven children, Avery, Theodore, Mrs. Pearl Weaver, Mrs. Penelope Graf, Ormont Monckton, Mrs. Joan Bigham, all of Milwaukie; Mrs. Irene Bubeck of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Robt. Mills, Miss Alphonse Monckton, Milwaukie, and Mrs. Gertrude Elder, Oakland, Calif.; a brother, Roy Monckton of Yakima, Wash., and nine grandchildren.
Acting pallbearers were John Frank, Jacob Hafner, George Noakes, Otto and Lewis Chaney.
Concluding services and vault entombment were held at the Portland Crematorium.
