Clara was born about 1900 in Nebraska. In some records, her parents came from Poland; in others, they came from Germany (there was some shifting of national boundaries).

In 1910, Clara was 10 years old, and living with her parents on Landers Street in Posen, Howard County, Nebraska. Her father was a blacksmith, her mother a dressmaker, and the family was wealthy enough that there were two live-in servants: one that helped her father in the blacksmith shop, and the other helping her mother in the dressmaking business.

By 1920, Clara had moved to Omaha, Nebraska. She was boarding with Mike and Kate Mithos, and she was working as a common laborer in a packing house.

She fell in love with Frank Stilmock, a World War I veteran, and they were married. In 1930, the Stilmocks were living at 2619 C Street in Omaha. They had been blessed with three children: Lavon (6), Frank (4) and Cecil (1). Frank was a little older than Clara (he was 36 and she was 30), and he had a job as an office clerk for a fraternal insurance organization.

Sadly, Frank died in 1957. Clara entered eternity December 22, 1967 and is buried beside him.
