MR. GEORGE F. TARDY
Death Yesterday of the Father of Capt. Frank Tardy
Mr. George F. Tardy died yesterday at 4:55 p.m. at the home of his son, Capt. Frank Tardy, the well-known boatstore man on Water street. Mr/ Tardy was born in 1820 at Vevay, Switzerland county, Indiana. He leaves two children to mourn his loss, Capt. Frank Tardy, of this city, and Mrs. Hattie L. Kelly, of Louisville, Ky., also five grandchildren and one great grandchild. His beloved wife died in Louisville, Ky., January 28, 1892, at the age of 71 years.
Mr. Tardy had been a river man over 50 years. In his early life he was a pilot on flatboats from Pittsburgh to New Orleans. His remains will be taken to Louisville, Ky., to-day for interment in Cave Hill cemetery by the side of his wife.
