Born in 1925 in Darlington County, SC, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Wade Leonard Holloman and Thelma (Smith) Holloman.
A graduate of Central High School in Lee County, SC, she was a gifted seamstress who worked for many years at Raycord, a dedicated homemaker with a love for gardening and cooking, and she spent a great deal of time delighting in the care of her great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Taylor was a former active member of Park Hills Baptist Church and a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Walter Edward Taylor of the home; a son, Mike Taylor and his wife, Myra, of Spartanburg; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Taylor of Augusta, GA; a sister, Alice McLeod of Camden, SC; and her grandchildren: Meredith and John Kesler of Roebuck, SC; Mandy and James Lombardo of Grovetown, GA; Angie Cybularz of St. Augustine, FL; and Wayne Pack, of Inman, SC. Mimi's great grandchildren are: Libby Kesler, Chloe Kesler, Will Kesler, Taylor Kesler, Reese Campbell, Jack and Joshua Lombardo.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her son, Donald E. Taylor; her sister, Jeannette McCaskill, and her brothers, Olin, Wallace and George Holloman.
Visitation was held at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 1:00-2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2006.
Funeral services follow at 2:30 p.m., at the church, conducted by the Rev. Rufus Chaneyworth. Entombment was in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum.
Memorials could be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 350 North Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
