Lola Irene Hochhalter
No service will be held for Lola Irene Hochhalter, who died Nov. 7, 1998, at age 85.
Mrs. Hochhalter was born Feb. 25, 1913, in Colton, Minnehaha, South Dakota and was raised in Willow Creek, Montana and Portland. Her maiden name was Kimball. She moved to Milwaukie in 1931, and was a day-care worker and receptionist in Oak Grove for about 20 years, retiring in the early 1970's. She moved to Nehalem in 1975 and returned to Portland in 1989. In 1931, she married Theodore Monckton; they were later divorced. She married Albert Hochhalter in 1973; he died in 1987.
Survivors include her sons, David Monckton, Ronnie Monckton and Jerry Monckton, all of Portland; daughters, Patricia Rickman of Milwaukie, Shirley Eggman and Ella Monckton, both of Manteca, Calif., Barbara Sumerlin of Beaverton; brother, Donald Kimball of Milwaukie; sisters, Dorothy Hills of Portland and Doris Cahill of Roseburg; 23 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Disposition is by cremation. Arrangements are by Portland Memorial Funeral Home.
