He was born in Columbia in 1875, the son of the late G. V. Allworden and Elizabeth Allworden. He attended Columbia Public Schools.
Mr. Allworden worked for the J. L. Mimnaugh Co., in 1893. He served in the Columbia Fire Department from 1893 until 1903 without pay, and as police commissioner from 1910 to 1914.
A life long member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Mr. Allworden was agent for the
G. V. Allworden estate until his death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. George L. Price; a son, George V. Allworden; a grandchild, Johnnie Thomas Allworden, all of Columbia, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Talbert Funeral Home at 5 o'clock this afternoon by the Rev. Carl Honeycutt, pastor of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Jesse T. Reese, James Reese, Glenn Kennedy, Monroe Shand, E. L. Sharpe, Jr. and Richard Riley.
Honorary pallbearers will be R. F. Broome, Dr. P. F. LaBorde, W. C. Boyd, Fletcher Sharpe, John Bunch, Louie Conder, Robert Childs, Jake Schwartz and members of Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
