Ray Garner Rites Last Wednesday

Miller Raymond Garner, son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Garner, was born in Rockport, Illinois, December 7, 1889 and died at his home south of Loup City April 3, 1939, at the age of 49 years, 3 months and 22 days. At the age of 13 he moved with his parents to Polk County, Nebraska, where he grew to manhood. When a boy, he united with the U. P. Church and in 1933 joined the Methodist Church of Arcadia. He came to Valley County at the age of 23. He made his home in Valley and Sherman Counties until the time of his death. He was married to Miss Mable Burson at Ord on February 17, 1913. To this union were born 4 children, 1 son and three daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leslie and Harry.
Besides his wife he is survived by the following: one son, Audrey, three daughters, opal, and Ruth of Loup City and Nina E. Gray of Broken Bow; three brothers, Willis of Ord, James M. of Rockport, Illinois and Clair [sic] of Litchfield; three sisters, Freda Boyer of Rockport, Illinois; Mrs. Pearl Burnett of Bradford, Arkansas and Mrs. Ruby Tobias of Minnoka, Illinois; and a host of relatives and friends.
funeral services were held in the Methodist church here on Wednesday, April 5, in charge of Rev. Peterson and burial was made in Ord cemetery.
