Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. General calling hours will be held from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Barb was born May 2, 1935, in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Carmi Leroy and Cordelle Geneva (Greiner) Crossett. She attended country school northwest of Wellman, Iowa. Barb was married to James V. Milam on February 21, 1957, in Iowa City, Iowa.
Barb was a life resident of Washington County. She worked at Modine Manufacturing for 19 years retiring in 1997. She had previously worked at Perfex and Snyder General.
Barb enjoyed spending time outdoors. She enjoyed scrapbooking, counting cans, watching wild life, gardening, mushrooming, picking berries and mowing yards for most of the town of West Chester. Barb loved listening to music and dancing. She especially loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids and all other whom she considered family. Barb will be remembered as having a gracious heart and always helping others.
She is survived by her husband, James V. Milam of West Chester, Iowa; daughter, Vickie Lea Tobin and husband Herb of Washington, Iowa; son Alonzo “Lonnie” Milam of Keota, Iowa; son, James A. “Jimmy” Milam of Keota, Iowa; daughter, Carmel Ann Miller and husband George of Washington, Iowa; son, Thomas “Tom” Milam and wife Jennean of West Chester, Iowa; daughter, Dosha Romoser and husband Andy of Keota, Iowa; son, Samson “Sam” Milam and wife Betsy of Washington, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren, and was soon to be a great great grandmother.
Barb was preceded in death by her father, Carmi and his wife Edna; mother, Cordelle and her husband Howard; brother, Merle Crossett; brother, Darrel Wade; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Milam.
