Mary Elizabeth Blankenship Richards, age 98, of Whitehouse, TX and formerly of Preble County, OH went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 7, 2011. She was born on February 23, 1913 near Brookville, OH. She was the 12th of 17 children born to Owen and Melissa Blankenship. Mary was a 1931 graduate of Jefferson High School in New Paris, OH. She was an inspector at Clifton Shirt Company in Eaton for 20 years. Mary was a member of Prices Creek Church of the Brethren for 60 years, where she was involved in all activities of the church, especially the ministry at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, OH. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Esta L. Richards, who passed away in 1968; and all her siblings: William, Daniel, George, Lulu, Katie, Charles, David, Walter, Mildred, Joseph, Alfred, Ruth, Bertha, Evelyn, Winnard and Betty. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Beth Ellen and Joe Whitten and grandson Jeremy Whitten all of Whitehouse, TX where Mary lived the last 7 years of her life; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Prices Creek Church of the Brethren, 8578 Monroe Central Road, West Manchester, OH 45382 with Pastor Donald King officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Township Cemetery, Eldorado, OH. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH.
