A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Norkenzie Church of Christ for Kenneth Rogers McEwen of Eugene. He died May 13 of age-related causes at age 92.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
He was born May 29, 1913, in Los Angeles to Ezra and Nora Rogers McEwen.
He married June Pidgeon on Jan. 19, 1936, in Caldwell, Idaho.
He worked on Liberty ships in Portland during World War II.
He was a bookbinder for the University of Oregon for many years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lenora Reaves of Denton, Texas, Carol Clark of Depoe Bay and Kathleen Freestone of Vernal, Utah; a son, Ken of Fairbanks; two sisters, Eulah Cantwell of Beaverton and Wilma Kennedy of Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Two grandsons, Kraig McCann and Jimmy Freestone, died previously.
