He was the third child of four children born to William Crews (1850-1930) & Martha Frances Russell Crews (1856-1920). His oldest sister being Mary Vester (Vestie) Crews Hall (1878-1933); Callie Crews (1882-1958); George W. Crews (1885-1966); & the youngest child was Grover Cleveland (Cleve) Crews (1887-1975). He is buried in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Samson, Alabama with his family. Uncle George's head stone marker was incorrectly engraved with the date of birth.
