Ryan D. Van Denburg, 18, of Delmar entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 13, 2006. Ryan was born in Albany on February 8, 1988, the son of Glenn E. Van Ravensway of Delmar and Dawn M. Butler (Brendan) of Delmar. Ryan was a junior at Bethlehem Central High School where he participated in volleyball and indoor and outdoor track. He was employed part-time at Mangia Restaurant in Slingerlands. Ryan was an avid reader and enjoyed hanging out with his friends and cousins. He loved working on his computer and playing video games and loved his pets, especially his cats. In addition to his parents, survivors include his stepbrother, Devin Butler; his paternal grandmother, Pamela Van Ravensway of Conyers, Ga.; his maternal grandmother, Karen Van Denburg and paternal grandfather, David Van Denburg (Danielle) of Delmar; many aunts, uncles and special cousins, Stephanie and Schyler Houck, Kaitlyn Van Denburg and Randy Jr. and Juliana Flavin and close family friend, Ron Sellnow. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Glenn Van Ravensway Sr. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Donations in Ryan's memory to support athletic programs at Bethlehem Central High School may be made to the Bethlehem Central Endowment Fund, c/o Ryan Van Denburg Memorial, 90 Adams Place, Delmar, NY 12054. A deeply troubled young man for whom life's challanges became to heavy a burden to bear.
