Roberta Catherine Bishop, 78, went to join the Lord on February 24, 2015. She was born on April 28, 1936 the only child to the late, Glen and Agnes (Sorg) Ulrey.
Bobbie graduated from Central Catholic High School (1954) in Fort Wayne and shortly thereafter married the late, Robert Merle. Bobbie was proud that she had been asked to try out for the Fort Wayne Daisys but passed on the opportunity to begin a family, a vocation she followed the rest of her days.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda; sons, Brad (Nichole) and Rob (Lois); grandchildren, Angela, Jacob, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Madison, Paul and Grace; and one great grandson, Brody.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1702 E. Wallen Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also 2-6 p.m., March 1, 2015 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with a Red Hats service at 4:00 p.m. She will be entombed at Catholic Cemetery.
