George Edward Bray was born June 7, 1861, near McCracken, Mo., and passed away March 5, 1946, in a hospital in Walsenburg, Colo.

He lived all of his early life in Christian county where he was a well-known farmer but for the past 19 years he has been engaged in the cattle business in Colorado.

He was united in marriage on Feb. 15, 1883, to Sophonia Davidson and to this union were born seven children. His wife and five children preceded him in death.

In the year 1885, Mr. Bray united with the Mt. Zion Baptist church near McCracken.

Surviving are one son, W.L. Bray of Fruitland, Idaho; one daughter, Rosa Cook of Ozark; three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Forrester of Pocatello, Idaho, Mrs. Nellie Boles and Mrs. Sue Smith of Rupert, Idaho; one brother, Overton Bray of Rupert; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Chaffin Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Reg Mapes with burial in the Linden cemetery under direction of Chaffin.
