DEATH OF MRS. JUDGE GLASCOCK.

An Estimable Lady, and a Long and Useful Resident of Oakland. Sabbath forenoon, shortly after 10 o'clock. Mrs. Margaret T. Glascock, wife of Judge William H. Glascock, died at the residence, 301 Fifth street, aged about sixty-five. The deceased was born at Milton, South Carolina, July 20, 1822. From there she removed, while yet a child, with her parents to various Southern States, including Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. In the latter State she was married in 1841 to her surviving husband. After residing in that State together for a number of years, they removed to San Francisco, and in the year 1856 came to Oakland, where they have resided with the family ever since. The deceased leaves a son and daughter, John R. Glascock, ex-Congressman, and Mary, wife of W. W. Blow. Mrs. Glascock leaves a wide circle of friends, by whom her loss will be sincerely regretted. Her charity, although far reaching, was most unostentatious, and many will recall the benevolent acts performed by her during her useful lifetime. Mrs. Glascock was a member of the South Methodist Church and was one of the leaders in all matters appertaining to Christian work. The funeral will take place this, Tuesday, morning at 10, from the residence. The interment will be private.
