Ernest Curry Shockley of Fayetteville, formerly a retired farmer and employee of Martin Industries, died Nov. 3 in the Lincoln County Hospital following an extended illness. He was 83.
Services were Nov. 5 at the State Line Church of Christ with Bill Towry and Joe Bogle officiating. Burial was in the State Line Cemetery. Gallant Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Shockley was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a native of White County, Tenn.
He was the son of the late John K. and Mary Knowles Shockley.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margie Quick Shockley, of Fayetteville; one daughter, Mrs. Rachel Bishop and a son, Kenneth Edward Shockley, both of Fayetteville; a brother, Edgar Shockley of Huntsville; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
