Morrison, Adele Leah
77, of Glendale, Arizona passed away peacefully on February 12, 2015 in her sleep. Adele was born on June 2, 1937 to Gertrude and Jacob Morrison in Brooklyn, New York. Adele received her degree in Philosophy for Long Island University and her teaching credentials from Oswego State Teachers College. Adele taught in New York for several years before meeting and marrying Rubin Morrison in 1963. Adele then spent the next 14 years in Real Estate and Hotel Management. In 1977, Adele with family, Rubin and sons, Jacob and Abraham, moved to Arizona where she worked in Human Resources/Payroll for the City of Phoenix for 21 years, her final years in the Street Transportation Department. Adele received her Masters in Counseling from the University of Phoenix, but illness ended her dreams of returning to education as a high school counselor. For several years Adele was involved with the Omega Vector and Delta self-realization programs, first as participant and then as staff, and became mother to hundreds of participants. Adele's love of people and love of life shined through in everything she did, encouraging all around her and caring deeply for her family and extended family. The one thing that never changed for Adele through all the years was her dazzling smile. Adele is survived by her son Jacob as well as niece, nephews, cousins and all their family. Funeral services will be held at Valley of the Sun Funeral Home, Chandler, AZ on Friday, February 20th at 1:00 pm. Visit www.valleyofsunfuneralhome.com to leave condolences. Adele was a loving woman, mother and teacher and will be missed.
