Nancy Hill was born November 29, 1863 at Jonesboro, Grant county, Indiana and died after an illness of nine weeks at her home in Seneca, July 5, 1923 at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 6 days. The cause of her death was ulcers of the stomach. She was united in marriage to D. M. Bloom at Dubuque, Kansas, March 24, 1884. To this union were born six sons and one daughter. V.S. Bloom, Osage City, Kan.; O. A. Bloom, Oneida; M. S. Bloom, Lee Bloom, Cecil Bloom and Mrs. V. M. Gilkerson all of Seneca. Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her loss, seventeen grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W. H. Anspaugh, Ransom, Kan.; two brothers, J. W. Hill, Lawrence, Kan. and S. H. Hill, Ackerland, Kan. All of them were able to be present except J. W. Hill and one grandchild, little daughter of Otis Bloom of Oneida, who was ill and under her mother's care.

Mrs. Bloom came to Ellsworth county, Kansas in 1878. She located in Nemaha county, 1899, near Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Bloom have lived in Seneca for the past four years.

A birthright member of the Friend church, she later joined the M. E. church at Maple Shade, near Goff. In 1901, in removing from the limits of that church, she joined the Evangelical church in the Ford district. When this church was disbanded she transferred her membership to the Methodist church in Seneca.

Mrs. Bloom will be missed not only by her immediate family but by all who came in contact with her. She ws a good woman in all ways, and was ever ready to help with her church in any way possible. She was a member of the Loyal Esther class of the Methodist Sunday school and was a regular attendant until her recent illness.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Seneca last Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Robert C. Lintner. Interment was in the Seneca cemetery.
