Correctionville News, 3 December 1975: Mrs. John Lahann, 79, of Correctionville died November 25, 1975, in a Sioux City hospital after a short illness. Services were November 29 in the United Methodist Church in Correctionville. The Rev. Matt Leach officiated and burial was in the Correctionville Cemetery.
Bessie Frances was the daughter of Carroll Omar Ashmore and Jennie Coon Ashmore. She was married to John Lahann November 3, 1915, at Ida Grove, Iowa. They farmed in the Correctionville vicinity until 1935 when they moved into Cushing. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in April 1951 and brothers Clifford and Howard.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Ruth Lahann, and one brother, Fred Ashmore, both of Correctionville and a number of nieces and nephews.
